This is my current Work In Progress which is inspired by the Hudson River School artists of the past. According to Wikipedia the Hudson River School landscape paintings are known for their realistic detail and sometimes idealized portrayal of nature, In general, Hudson River School artists believed that nature in the form of the American landscape was an ineffable manifestation of God, though the artists varied in the depth of their religious conviction. I love Art and my goal is to have my work look as good close up as it does far away, as a matter of fact I want people to be drawn into it and want to get as close as possible to catch every little detail both painted purposely and imagined. My Collectors appreciate the attention to detail within my works. I want to capture the beauty of my North Carolina State Landscape and the serenity of nature of the imagined past and the present. Unlike The Hudson River School paintings that leaned towards the Landscape being the primary theme and animals/people very small in comparison, I want the landscape to share the attention of the viewer with the animals/people and sometimes even be secondary. In other words, I am attempting to take an Art Movement (Which I admire) and in my own way bring it into our present time.

100% China Silk 11" x 11" on 8mm Silk. Wash in cold water/Delicate
My silk paintings are produced utilizing a dye instead of paints in order to retain the luxurious softness and flexibility of the silk in which this material is known world wide for. Silk Dye can be somewhat unpredictable meaning that each piece is a one of a kind and no prints are available on these silk products. Silk Commissions are available upon request of the Artist.

Although my mother has stated I began drawing earlier, I recall drawing as early as age four.
I earned my Bachelor Degree at Guilford College in Greensboro, North Carolina. My Fine Art is not the product of any instructional influence, but a combination of practice and observance of other fine artists whom I admire. Being the epitome of a natural born artist has allowed me to create fine art without restraint, revealing my own style of creative artwork. To portray my distinct way of interfacing with the world and expressing with energy and feeling is my intent with each piece of art.
